JOIN US FOR OUR EPA LEAD CERTIFICATION CLASS
HOSTED BY
THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THE REMODELING INDUSTRY
As the leader in professional training and networking for the contractor community, the Greater Phoenix chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry is offering one day lead certification classes to all contractors and other effected professions. This class will fully qualify you to become certified under the EPA's Renovate, Repair and Paint, RRP regulations as a Certified Renovator.
The RRP regulations affect a wide range of contractors, realtors, property managers, and landlords. Even plumbers , electricians, windowinstallers, flooring contractors, cabinet installers and countertop installers can disturb enough painted home surfaces to be subject to major fines.
In today's litigious society none of us wants to put our businesses in a position to be at risk from the federal government or our clients. The new push from the federal government for full compliance to the RRP regulations includes extremely stiff fines that compound with each occurrence. Anyone investigated for not following the regulations in the months or years from now can expect an audit of present jobs and all jobs dating back to April 22, 2010. Just like your relationship with the Internal Revenue Service, ignorance of, or ignoring their rules will not make you any less subject to their regulations and fines.
The class will cover all aspects of why the EPA sees lead dust generated by disturbing surfaces painted with lead paint the largest source of lead poisoning in America. You will learn why lead is so easily absorbed by our bodies and why it is so hard for doctors to detect.
Training will include hands-on training for all aspects of protecting yourself and your clients during work on lead painted surfaces. You will learn how to test for lead paint in homes and how to control, contain and clean the affected areas.
It is our experience that professional contractors have always been concerned with not exposing their clients or workers to lead dust. The problem is that many companies have not been so considerate or just haven't been aware of the dangers. Our hope is that we can work together to comply with the present regulations and team up to have a voice with the EPA in regards to adjusting the regulations as necessary for the public and our industry.
Our classes are open to all contractors. The cost per student is $250.00 with a $25.00 discount per student to NARI members. Please consider joining NARI if you are not already a member. As a group we can have a voice with the EPA and the public. The association with other professionals of numerous trades, and professional educational opportunities we offer have been a great benefit to many companies across the country.
Meet with us at our next monthly networking meeting to learn about the benefits of becoming a NARI member. It could be just what you need to take your company and career to the next level of professionalism.
Join us now for one of our EPA lead classes to become a Certified Renovator. Don't take a chance on being caught in a dispute with the EPA, it will be a no win situation.
